How are you doing with your new year’s resolutions? In a study of over 800 million people done in early 2021 it showed that many people had fallen off their resolution by January 19th. Here we are already past the 19th of January so be honest, have you fallen off?

Did you know that by February more than 80% of people have fallen off their intention for the entire year? Why is it so hard to stick with our goals and create habits that change our lives?  Well, too often we believe that when we have ‘this’ or ‘that’, we’ll be happy. And then we’ll be able to do more. And when we don’t see results, we give up too quickly. It all feels too hard. We are living in a Have-Do-Be” mindset.

True Abundance

First, we think we must HAVE something before we can DO something to BE who we want to be. The reality is that it doesn’t work that way. Let me explain. We all know the phrase, “Ask and ye shall receive”, but you may not believe this works, and that makes you feel like manifesting isn’t for you.

I want to share some information with you from the latest research, which I found very interesting. It shows that the original sentence from the Dead Sea Scroll was shortened into the phrase, “Ask and ye shall receive” but that phrase is missing a key aspect. The aspect of believing and deeply feeling that you already have what you want. The original phrase from the Dead Sea Scroll is “Ask without hidden motive and be surrounded by your answer”.  Being surrounded by your answer is ‘feeling what it is that you want deeply in your body’.

First Step: Your Consciousness Is the Only Reality.

Now I bet you are thinking, “well how do I use that phrase to get what I want”? Well, you must first know what you it is that you desire, and then assume the feeling that you already have it.

  • Envision yourself as the person you want to be, or envision the material items that you want, or the new job that you want.
  • We must act as if we already have what we desire. This belief state is so critical!

Let’s use losing weight as an example. You need to envision that person, YOU, in new clothes, enjoying sports and doing things that you cannot do today. Envision yourself dancing in a field of flowers, having fun, enjoying life, being able to move without pain, because you’ve lost weight. It’s a beautiful day outside, the sun is shining, you are surrounded by lavender fields, and you have a huge smile on your face. You feel free, light and happy!

Second Step: Take Action

You need to be able to see the future as you want it because you need to start imprinting this future into your subconscious brain. Once you have that image, then you will want to feel it in your core being. Then the opportunity that you are envisioning will present itself for you to take the required action!

Perhaps you meet someone who can help you on your weight loss journey, or maybe you will find that you love taking walks outside in the sun. When you’ve been given that opportunity, recognize it as an opportunity that you have been gifted and step into that.

Third Step: Get What You Desire

When you have done all the hard work in the first two steps, now it is time for you to get what it is you desire! You will already have been feeling dramatically better than when you first started out.

Remember you must have the power to believe in what you want! Don’t lose that feeling, because when you lose that feeling you lose your resolve to keep any of the resolutions you set for yourself at the beginning of the year.

Start Out By Focusing On Baby Steps

All of the above sounds simple, yet many will still not get all the way to step three. How can you do this?

First off, start out with baby steps. By breaking the bigger pieces down into smaller more “digestible pieces” it will be easier for you to follow through on your new year’s resolutions.

We used the example of losing weight.  Ask yourself what is it that I need to do to accomplish what I want?  Maybe you need to find a plan that you know you can follow and implement. Then as you start losing a weight it will boost your confidence!  That will help you with believing that you can do this and to further trust in the process, which motivates you to do more! You start to eat more cleanly, continue with your exercise, ensure you’re getting good sleep at the right times for your circadian rhythm. Now when you visualize you can see it more clearly because you know you’re already on the way! You start buying smaller clothes! When you believe that deeply it will bring those goals into your present reality. That is how you achieve the results that you want.

Wishing isn’t enough. It’s the wanting. It’s that deeply rooted desire. That is what is going to get you to where you want to go. If you’re just wishing you could lose weight, if you’re just wishing for a new job, if you’re wishing for a better, bigger house, that’s not enough. When you start wanting it, start imprinting what you want in your subconscious mind, when you start journaling about it, feeling it, envisioning it…. that is when it will all start to fall into place. I know several people that have completely manifested and envisioned their new home. They would see the home and it’s layout in their mind’s eye and that is  almost exactly what they ended up buying. But first they had to vision it and see themselves living in their dream home, seeing their own furniture in that house. Then they started working with realtors telling their realtors exactly what they wanted based on what they had been seeing. In one case it only  took a few months, in another it took a few years, but when it happened, they were like “this is what I envisioned, this is my dream home”. That is powerful!

It doesn’t matter that January 1, 2022 is now in the past, you can still create a new desire that you want or create the same desire. However, this time take your desire deeper! Take it from just wishing to wanting and then focusing on that burning desire. It’s simple really if you think about it, all you must do is follow the three steps and taking those steps in baby steps. Then your desire will be achievable, and you will be better able to achieve what you desire!
