We have all been raised with the unspoken misconception that our health is not really our job. That would be the doctor’s jurisdiction. We don’t have to take responsibility ourselves. It is tacitly understood that if we get sick, we will simply go to the clinic or the hospital, and they’ll fix it. The physician will give us a “band-aid” prescription and some expert advice on what it will take to feel better. Then we can just get back to our life the way it always was without having to make a change. Right?
