Welcome back to another episode of health hack. And as I continue talking about energy, today, I'm talking about another system of the body that uses a lot of energy. And that is your immune system. Because of course, it is working for you 24/7 To help keep you healthy, and fight off viruses and microbes and other pathogens that get into our body that can cause illness that we don't want. And that takes energy. Now, there's a couple of things here. First of all, there are many things that you can do to be boosting your immune system. I also want to talk to you about the fact that once your immune system is fighting something, because energy is taken away from you doing the things you want to do in your day, to your immune system fighting that you are going to feel lower energy. And very often in society, we're taught to suck it up, push through, you know, keep going. And that's actually the worst thing that we can be doing. Because then we're just taxing all the energy systems on the body and the immune system may not have enough left to fight it, the best thing you can do is the moment that you start to feel like you're coming down with something is listen to your body, it will never direct you wrong. So if you need rest, if you need to take a day off work, if you need to just have a break, listen to your body and do what it's asking you to do. Because in the long run, you're going to get less sick, you'll heal faster, and then be back to your normal energy levels much sooner. So don't do what society tells you to do. Be tough, suck it up and push through. Listen to your body. That's how you'll get back to the energy levels that you want. When they're if they've been drawn away by your immune system. Because when you're back to being healthy, the immune system isn't using as much energy and you can use that energy the way you want to use it.
